FAQs

Q: Are you just another furry convention?
A: No. A Convention is a heavily themed event with multiple shows, events and seminars which take place under one roof. Furcation is a far more open and relaxed weekend where attendees can choose to either socialise on site, or organise their own activities on or off site. While we will have a number of events running over the weekend, we will be trying to make them different to the usual convention fayre.

Q: Last time you tried to ran, you failed. Why should we trust you?
A: It is true that Furcation 2015 didn't happen. This was due to issues with our old venue and we lost trust in them to run a satisfactory event for us. The difference this year is that we already have all contracts signed and the venue have worked with us to give us some amazing deals. They really want us!
Yes, we pulled the plug before but surely people can appreciate that it was better for us to do that and regroup for a better event than to run a shoddy one at a venue that couldn't be bothered with us. And anyway, nobody lost any money, all people have been refunded and those who have stuck with us are getting some special deals exclusive to them!

Q: I stuck with you! What will my platinum package contain?
A: All of the sponsor package and some extra goodies we are working on just for you! This will be communicated personally to you in the not too distant future.

Q: Will you have a mascot?
A: I'm sure you have seen Frankie Ferret about the place on our website!

Q: Where can I Fursuit?
A: You can Fursuit in any areas of the park, your chalet, the communal areas such as the bar, and around the grounds. We do however ask that you do not Fursuit in the restaurant areas or near food. Please note that the park grounds may have muddy and wet areas dependent on the weather prior to the event however, all pathways and roads are tarmac. We strongly recommend the use of Fursuit sandals or specially made outdoor feetpaws if Fursuiting outside the bar or your chalet. The on-site laundrette has industrial sized machines but these have not been tested with fursuits. We don't test on animals!

Q: I am expecting an e-mail from you but have not received one. Where is it?
A: Please ensure you add our e-mail address to your trusted addresses or address book. You will need to check your e-mails junk/spam folders as well. This is a new website so it's likely we will be marked as junk mail. If you still have not received your expected e-mail from us, then get in contact using the contact us links on this site or via social media and we will look in to it. Please note, we are unable to answer account specific questions over social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook.

Q: Can I find out who is attending?
A: Due to data protection laws, we are not publishing a full list of attendees. We will keep you updated on attendee numbers. There will be threads on the UKfur forums (http://www.ukfur.org) where many attendees will confirm their attendance themselves as well as on Facebook and twitter. All attendees will be free to look for room shares.

Q: I'll be almost 18 when the event starts, can I come?
A: We are afraid not. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

Q: I am 17 now, but will be 18 before/during the event, can I still come?
A: Providing you are 18 on or before the first day of the event, then yes you can still register and attend. Remember, you will need to bring photo ID with you to prove your age.

Q: What ID do you accept.
A: Full UK/European Passport, Full or Provisional UK photocard driving license, Any photo identity card which displays the holographic "Pass" logo, such as a Connexions card.

Q: I would like to buy/gift a ticket to someone else.
A: We've listened and we're working on it! We are hoping that by registration, the website will be fully developed to allow you to buy a chalet outright. Further details will follow on this.

Q: Can I choose who I am sharing with?
A: Absolutely. Once you have paid we will send an e mail with confirmation of registration and details of how to choose your room shares will be on that e mail. Please note that room shares will not be confirmed until all parties have chosen to share with each other. If not all parties have confirmed shares with each other, we will revert to randomly assigning your room shares.

Q: I have paid for attendance but I can no longer attend. Can I get a refund?
A: We will give a full refund (minus any money transfer fees) if the request is given at least 2 full calendar months before the start of the event. Between 2 calendar months and 2 weeks from the event a 70% refund (after fees) will be given. This is because we will have already used your attendance fees to secure your chalet and space in the chalet. If a cancellation is received within 2 weeks of the event, we will be able to cancel your attendance but we will not be able to issue a refund as the funds will have already been transferred to the park and the attendance numbers confirmed.

Q: What about transferring my ticket to another party?
A: You are allowed to sell your ticket to another party providing the following conditions are met:
1. You inform us via email to our registrations department.
2. The person who is buying your ticket must register on the site and agree to all terms and conditions.
3. In the event that existing room shares have been agreed, all parties must agree to share with the new attendee.
4. All the above conditions must be satisfied by at least 2 days before the event.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?
A: We will have contingency plans to allow outdoor planned activities to still take place in poor weather.

Q: Is there going to be a dealer's den and how do I register for it.
A: After a number of in depth discussions between the organisers, we have decided not to have a dealers den. Attendees can of course gift art or other items in communal areas but strictly no sales of goods are services are allowed outside of the chalets. If you wish to offer any artwork/services, we highly recommend that you do this within the confines of your chalet and advertise such by means of social media or discreet signs on your chalet (these signs must not show adult art).

Q: Does Furcation have a theme?
A: To be confirmed!

Q: I've seen Frantic Eufuria mentioned on the site, why is this?
A: Frantic Eufuria LTD is the name of the registered company which Furcation is being run by. This is the same parent company that ran the now defunct Frantic Eufuria and Bristol Fur Rave events. However, Frantic Eufuria Ltd is currently being wrapped up and a new company, Furcation LTD, will be live by the time we open registration.

Q: Do you like Pine Martens?
A: We do not talk about Pine Martens!
